Join us as Jean Dotson shares the life and plight of the Monarch Butterfly, as well as ways that Texans can welcome and support this brightly colored visitor thrive as it migrates through our state on its journey from Mexico to the Northeast United States.
Dotson is a Texas Master Gardner and Master Naturalist. Retired from 35 years of teaching in 2013, Dotson now teaches science and nature classes to home-schooled students, has worked with children through the Junior Master Gardener’s program and has spoken to garden clubs and women’s clubs on the subject.
Dotson’s lecture will be followed by a virtual tour of currently exhibited artwork at the OJAC by artist Billy Hassell, whose work spotlights Texas flora and fauna in natural habitat. CLICK HERE TO EXPLORE
