POSITION INFORMATION:
The primary responsibility of the Student & Teacher Programs Coordinator is to assist the Education Director in developing and administering all educational programming for K-12 student and classroom teacher audiences.
The Student & Teacher Programs Coordinator reports directly to the Education Director, who makes assignments in terms of broad program plans and objectives, and delegates independent responsibility for their accomplishment. The Student & Teacher Programs Coordinator reports secondarily to the Executive Director, who may assign non-departmental tasks.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Student & Teacher Programs Coordinator's duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Assists in the planning and facilitation of Classroom Teacher programs, such as:
• Three Annual Physical In-Service Workshops
Assists in the planning and facilitation K-12/ University School Outreachprograms, such as:
• Weekly K-12 Regional Campus Outreach
• Monthly K-12 Virtual Learning Programs
• Annual Student Art Show
• Annual Museum Career Night for University Students
Assists in the planning and facilitation of Student/ Child programs such as:
• Monthly virtual media workshops for Grades 2-6
• Monthly media workshops for Grades 7-10
• Summer Day Camps for Grades 1-6
Assists in the facilitation of Ed. Department Internship and Volunteer programs, such as:
• Internship program for Grades 11-12
• Volunteer program for Grades 7-10
REQUIREMENTS:
BA or BSE in either: Museum Studies, Art Education, Education, or Visual Art [MA or MSE preferred]
2-3 years of museum or classroom instruction experience
Strong graphic design, video editing, and desktop publishing skills
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
Knowledge of museum best practices and standards
Valid drivers license and willing to travel
Available for occasional evening and weekend programs/ events
Position start date: Fall Semester 2023
