The museum is currently offering a paid, weekly Internship in Visitor Services.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Greets and provides relevant information related the museum, collections, and exhibits to visitors and phone inquiries

· Oversees operations of gift shop and visitor information area

· Assists in monitoring visitors to ensure collection safety

· Assists in opening and closing duties

· Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

· Comfort working in a Visual Art Museum environment with challenging and changing exhibitions

· Well-informed of current exhibitions, collections, programs and events

· Maintains positive, helpful and professional interaction with museum visitors

· Basic knowledge of digital payment processing platforms

Applicant Requirements

· Completed degree or current enrollment in a Fine Art, Visual Art, Studio Art, Art History, Art Education or Museum Studies program.

Position requires 7.5 hours of on-site work each Saturday.

Positions are awarded per semester (Fall/Spring/Summer) and are open to renewal/ continuation each semester upon performance evaluation.

Flexible start date to be determined upon offer and acceptance of appointment.

Internships are set at a fixed, hourly rate and paid on the final business day of each month.
