Cultural Connections Camp 2015: Greece!

We had a Blast celebrating Greece at Cultural Connections Camp 2015!

We investigated toys that ancient Greek children would have played with- some we recognized (like tops and yo-yos)

We learned about pattern and created our own Grecian-style pots

We explored the history of mosaics and created our own designs with beans ;)

We listened to the music of the Lyre and painted some golden ones to make music of our own!

We enjoyed traditional children's games like astragaloi, troches and chytrina.

Then we cooled off by bobbing for the Golden Apple!

Finally, we washed our feet in essential oils before reclining to eat our snack.

The baklava and greek yogurt drops were a hit...the tzatiziki dip..maybe not so much. ;) But we washed it all down with grape juice!
