We had a blast Friday at our 2015 West Texas Triangle Sculpture Workshop. Click on album to see pics! This year we paid tribute to the very first WTT artist- Jesus Moroles.

First, we searched the museum grounds and found three of his sculptures.

We discovered that this one made nice sounds when we ran our hands over it!

Next, we created models for monumental stone forms using ye' old, tried and true wire/nylon process!

We practiced carving, and then sculpted our very own mini-Granite Weavings, based on this piece by Jesus.

Lastly- we created our own renderings of Sun Symbol (as seen here- erected by Jesus in our Sculpture Courtyard in 1984).

We practiced using protractors and compass to get the circles and angles of his design just right!
